I'm Melissa McLaughlin, a Wellnesspreneur from Danvers, MA.

Let me share a bit about myself!

My story begins in the City of Lynn, MA in 1989.

I was born to an entrepreneurial pair of parents. My dad owned multiple businesses in the automotive industry, which became a family business, as my siblings and I grew older; so you can say that being an entrepreneur is in my blood. My mom runs her own bookkeeping business. I learned many great skills from them that I utilize now in my own business. My mom has always been a ray of sunshine and my biggest supporter through everything. I grew up in a great family, am a middle child and have 2 brothers and 1 sister. My parents got divorced when I was 13 years old.

Growing up wasn't the easiest. I struggled hard! I endured many hardships through my adolescence; I call it the "perfect storm". I am a survivor of bullying, sexual abuse, anxiety and depression, an eating disorder and addiction.

I am a Leo Sun.... Virgo Moon, Capricorn Rising! :)

"One day at a time."

While all of the struggles were happening in my youth, I often found myself in a Physical Therapists office. I was a softball pitcher and needed shoulder surgery three times through my high school career. This blew my shot at a scholarship, but I grew an affinity for the human anatomy from all the diagrams on the walls and I built a love for movement and exercise! I always loved helping others through their struggles.

When I graduated high school, I went to University of MA - Lowell where I got my Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology with a Nutrition and Psychology minor. I graduated in 2011 with hopes of going to Physical Therapy school, but my dad was struggling with brain cancer at the time, so I wanted to be close to home. He passed in June 2013. Before he passed, he gave me the permission to do what I really wanted to do.

"Healing takes courage, and we all have courage, even if we have to dig a little to find it."
-Tori Amos

In September of 2013, I began my own journey. I went back to school for Holistic Massage Therapy at Spa Tech Institute in Ipswich, MA. This new beginning was when my journey of self healing began as well. I graduated in June 2014 and immediately started my own business, a single room at the Cummings Center in Beverly, MA. I kept taking more classes, continued to learn, continued to evolve, expanded the business a couple times, and now operate my bodywork practice, as a sole proprietor, in Danvers, MA.

In the coming pages, you will find Restorative Muscular Therapy & Wellness (my bodywork practice in Danvers, MA), Wellness Programs for Body, Mind and Energy, Wellness Warrior Pack and North Shore Wellnessprenuers (a network of holistic & integrative wellness businesses in the North Shore).

My retail business that I have formed with my SIL, Heather, is the Wellness Warrior Pack! I wanted to find another way to get items for healing and wellness in front of the consumer to help them on their healing journey.

A gift for yourself or a loved one that encompasses nature, natural products, crystals, jewelry, and aromatherapy that will help your soul evolve.

North Shore Wellnesspreneurs is a network of North Shore Holistic & Integrative Wellness Businesses formed by Danvers Wellness Center by Soul Warrior and myself. We run a yearly wellness expo to raise funds for a community non-profit organization, have monthly Gathers or Workshops where we gather to collaborate and/or to learn a new skill and gain knowledge and insight that will help each business grow and prosper. We also have a podcast where we chat one-on-one with these businesses, learn about their path, and how the services that they offer help individuals grow.
